Types of Yarn for the Manufacture of Footwear.

The manufacturing process of footwear requires a series of special materials that give the final product much more quality.

Yarn is one of these substrates that takes on importance for all the baking processes of a pair of shoes, which have special properties according to their treatment: cooked by hand or machine, in addition to the requirement for the final result.

Below we will detail some of the most used threads in the manufacture of footwear, description and properties that help you choose the most suitable when starting your production.

Polyamide yarn.

It is currently one of the most resistant threads on the market, which is why in its different presentations it is widely used by various industrial sectors, among which footwear and leather goods stand out. Its colorful presentation is really attractive with bright and solid tones in more than 180 options.

Features.

·It is quite wear-resistant, either under traction or rubbing.

·Perfectly manageable when it comes to sewing processes.

·Its appearance and brightness make it quite attractive to the market

·It does not rot under weather conditions.

Polyester yarn.

This type of yarn is composed of any synthetic polymer, among which many components stand out at the time of its production such as ethylene glycol, polycarbonate, polyethylene terephthalate and terephthalic acid. After all the processes to which it is subjected, a resistant thread is obtained, soft to the touch and with little ability to wrinkle.

Features.

·High abrasion resistance and good tenacity capacity.

·Good stretch ability.

·Repels any attack of mold or bacteria.

·It has good tolerance to high temperatures.

·Its appearance in shades and colors gives high glossiness.

·Resists the action of acids or whiteners.

"The result of drying depends on the quality and composition of the yarn"

Yarn Nylon bonded.

Thanks to the latest technology processes and most optimal raw materials, these threads are coated with a special resin that gives them a high tenacity, accompanied by maximum protection against friction and high temperatures, Its ability not to separate the strands makes it even more special by offering a premium seam.

Features.

·Resistant to UV rays.

·It is not absorbent.

·Speed up the threading.

·Ideal for double needle machines.

Water-repellent yarn.

Without diminishing the excellent properties in terms of sewing, this type of yarn avoids in its maximum splendor the moisture as main feature in addition to increasing the resistance to the incidence of UV rays, which allows it to extend the life of the material.

Polyester yarn yarn spun.

Its benefits make this yarn one of the most used in textile applications, with good resistance to abrasion and chemicals.

Features.

·Versatile before manual or machine cooking at high speeds.

·Wide and bright range of colors.

·Of rustic appearance.

·It resists high temperatures very well.

Waxed yarn.

The natural wax is present in these threads to give even more tenacity capacity in the material, ideal for cooking work with natural skin substrates, with little moisture absorption capacity and safety when making the knots.

Aramid meta yarn.

It is a high performance yarn capable of exceeding 200º Celsius temperature without melting or sticking to the skin, breaking down only when heat conditions exceed 350ºC, it is special for sewing and embroidering with a wide variety of colors.

Yarn of for aramid.

Even more resistant to high temperatures that could reach 450ºC this time, but also its ability to withstand breakage and cutting are even more splendid, so it is offered in the market under a wide variety of thicknesses according to the use required.

Polytetrafluoroethylene yarn.

Among its most remarkable benefits we find its high resistance to chemicals and UV rays, withstanding temperatures ranging from 195ºC to 265ºC, also does not absorb moisture and shows its strength before abrasion.

Special yarns.

Among them we can highlight those of metallic appearance either of gold or silver or that of fluorescent tones. Both very well resistant to breakage, are quite requested at present where the range of models in footwear expands.

The more demand for footwear grows globally accompanied by the emergence of new technologies, the more progress is made in terms of materials for its manufacture, in this case the threads are also presented from the most ancient and classic to some others which are subjected to modifications that give them a better resistance to the different chemical and environmental factors to which they must be exposed above all by the different machinery used to produce footwear.
